Flexible Ethernet Networking
The CloudEngine S310 series switches support the classical Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), the Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), and the Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), as well as the Huawei FutureMatrix S310 Series Switches 2 Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) standard.
The Smart Ethernet Protection (SEP) technology was also created by Huawei. The ERPS is defined in ITU-T G.8032. It provides millisecond-level protection switching based on the MAC and bridging functions of standard Ethernet.
Smart Link, a feature that provides uplink backup, is compatible with switches from the CloudEngine S310 series. When one switch may connect to many aggregation switches through different lines, access device reliability is significantly boosted.
Switches from the CloudEngine S310 series provide MAC address authentication and 802.1X authentication in addition to dynamically providing user-specific rules (VLAN, QoS, and ACLs). Multi-mode authentication, MAC address authentication, and port-based 802.1X authentication are all features available on switches from the CloudEngine S310 series.
The CloudEngine S310 family of switches provides a number of safeguards against DoS and user-targeted attacks. DoS assaults on switches include SYN flood, Land, Smurf, and ICMP flood assaults. User-targeted attacks include those that pretend to be DHCP servers, IP/MAC spoofing attacks, DHCP request flood attacks, and assaults that employ variable DHCP CHADDR values in packets.
CloudEngine S310 series switches, which can construct and retain DHCP snooping binding entries, can delete invalid packets that do not match the binding entries.
Easy Operations and Maintenance
The CloudEngine S310 series switches enable Easy Operation, a technology that provides zero-touch deployment, replacement of faulty devices without the need for additional configuration, USB-based deployment, batch configuration, and batch remote updating. The deployment of devices, their updating, the provision of services, and other administration and maintenance duties are all made simpler by the Easy Operation solution. Additionally, it considerably reduces O&M costs.
Switches in the CloudEngine S310 series may be operated and maintained via SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, SNMPv3, CLI, web system, or SSHv2.0. Additionally, by enabling a large number of log hosts, port traffic data collection, remote network monitoring (RMON), and network quality analysis, they enable network reconstruction and optimization.
